Aji Bi Manepade

The contribution of Odisha to the National Freedom Movement of India is incredible and exemplary. The Paik Rebellion, popularly known as Paik Bidroha, 1817 was the 1st armed rebellion against the British East India Company’s rule in India. The Paiks (Warriors) under the historical leadership of Buxy Jagabandhu Bidyadhar Rorang Mahapatra rose in rebellion projecting.

Lord Jagannath as the symbol of Odia unity. To memorize those days of freedom movement and sacrifices made by our ancestors, Aji bi Manepade a unique platform for bilateral experience sharing with eminent freedom fighters was organized on 11th August, 2016. The core objective of the program was to inculcate the sense of patriotism and to reenergize the youth masses for contributing towards nation building.

The national movement of our country was aimed at ending the British rule from the Indian subcontinent under the able leadership of Gandhiji. A numbers of freedom fighters of our country have shade their life and blood for this cause. But the freedom struggle and the national feelings are gradually forgotten by our new generations. So as to inculcate the spirit of nationality and integrity among the new generations and to encourage the youth masses to take active participation in nation building, a program named as ‘Aji bi Manepade’ was organized on 11th August 2016 at Jaydev Bhavana, Bhubaneswar. About 250 persons had participated in this occasion to felicitate and have an intimate sharing with Sj. Bhabani Patnayak, well known freedom fighter of Indian National Movement. Amongst the guests, Sj Ananta Narayana Jena, Honourable Mayor, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation, Sj. Sameer Kumar Dash, Honble Member of Legislative Assembly, Nimapara, Sj. Rabi Dash, Veteran journalist and Sj. Madhuudan Dash, Convener, NYP-Odisha memorized the freedom struggle and the contribution of Odisha in this movement. On this auspicious occasion Sj. Bhabani Patnayak was felicitated.
