The cultural heritage of Odisha is a harmonious blending of art, religion and philosophy interwoven around Lord Purusottam Jagannath. As described by many historians, the values and traditions of the state bear a combination of religious and scientific basis which are more logical in the current context. In history, the state was known for its heroic deeds, maritime trades and over-sea expansion of its people.

Protection of culture and heritage with peoples’ participation has become more important than only Government initiatives.
